however, it requires styling. Daily. It was scar-y to have not styled.

You have such thick hair too - definitely get a good flat iron because the shorter it is, the more likely it will NOT want to stay flat!
iron (gonna pull off a Meg Ryan 'do, too, I hope!) but yeah, it takes a
buttload of styling to get looking decent (it was scar-y unstyled). Not
used to that, but I will hopefully get used to it in time for BlogHer,
WOOHOO 2 WEEKS!!!!!
stand the heat. Unfortunately mine's gonna take a lot of styling to do,

Oh I completely know what you're talking about - my first perm I did
short. And it was POOFY ;) Have you thought about straightening it at all?

something with 'em. This time.. not so much LOL My hair has waves to it,
so sometimes it can be good, sometimes.. uh.. yeah ;)
